Driven, involved and passionate about the future, honors student Sydney Hoffman’s time at UW-Eau Claire has been a launching pad for professional success. From student leadership, honors research, hands-on industry experience and extracurricular involvement, she exemplifies the forward-thinking dedication of the Blugold brand.

Bree Muske’s journey at UW-Eau Claire has been defined by bold curiosity, meaningful honors mentorship and a transformative love for English.

Adrianna Dahlberg combined her passion for nursing and music by being deeply involved in campus and community organizations. Dahlberg’s time in the Cosby Honors College broadened her perspectives and strengthened her leadership skills as she prepares to work in outpatient healthcare.

Matthias McDermott, a biology major and pre-professional health sciences minor, found that the Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College significantly enriched his college experience, particularly in the development of communication skills. In addition to his academic pursuits, he was deeply involved in research, community service and leadership roles, including his work with the National Guard and as an honors mentor.

Six faculty members have been recognized for their excellence in teaching and mentoring as recipients of two sets of awards from the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.

The DRIVE Initiative, a partnership between UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout, aims to enhance the education of nursing and packaging students by improving sterilized medical packaging practices.

Faith Black, a recent alum of the Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College with a rehabilitation science major, has demonstrated dedication through her work with the community, research and leadership roles in the honors college. She is preparing for a doctorate in physical therapy while making a lasting impact on her community and peers.

Honors student Harry Roubidoux, an English major with a rhetorics of science, technology and culture emphasis, developed leadership skills as captain of the UWEC football team. After graduation, Roubidoux will be pursuing a career in technical writing.

On Dec. 21, Nathan Donovan will graduate from UW-Eau Claire after 3.5 years with a 3.88 GPA, a bachelor’s degree in biology and a preprofessional health science minor with plans to apply to medical school. On the soccer pitch, he is the 2024 NCAA Division III national soccer player of the year and scholar-athlete of the year, in addition to being a two-time All-American.

Honors student Calvin Lutzke is a triple major in Latin American and Latinx studies, political science and Spanish, with a deep passion for exploring culture, politics and language. Through study abroad experiences and active involvement on campus, Lutzke has grown his leadership skills and commitment to making a positive impact.

Honors student Sabrina Massie is passionate about making history accessible through public history, with a focus on translating complex topics to everyone. After graduating from UWEC, they plan to pursue a master’s and doctorate in public history, using their Honors experience to encourage critical thinking for future students.

On Sept. 16, Foust, professor emeritus of geography at UW-Eau Claire, was one of 16 new fellows hosted at an induction gala event in the Madison area.
