Biography
Dr. Jacob Grewe is an educator and freelance musician based in Minneapolis, MN. He joined the music faculty at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ-Eau Claire as the Lecturer of Tuba and Euphonium in 2016. In addition to Dr. Grewe’s teaching duties at UW-EC, he is Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University and is a tuba instructor at the International Music Camp where he also performs with the International Brass Quintet. Dr. Grewe has performed and presented masterclasses throughout the Midwest.
As an active freelance musician throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, Dr. Grewe has performed with the Minnesota Opera, St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Kenosha Symphony Orchestra, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, and with numerous other chamber ensembles.
Dr. Grewe completed his doctoral studies in Tuba Performance with a minor in Musicology at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ-Madison. He holds a Master of Music degree from the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ-Madison and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arkansas. His primary teachers include John Stevens, Benjamin Pierce, and Tom Curry.
