The Blugold Sales Challenge is an internal sales competition sponsored by the UWEC Sales Program. Blugold participants compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to travel to compete nationally. The Blugold Challenge will put your sales skills to the test while building your resume and network of professional contacts.

The Blugold Sales Challenge is a long and established tradition that will be celebrating its 25th year anniversary in 2026. This year's event is being sponsored by , , , , , , l, , and .

Are you up for the challenge? If so, you might win cash, secure a job or an internship, or just have fun. Top prize includes a trophy and $500! Second, third, and fourth places will receive a trophy and $100!

What is the Blugold Sales Challenge? 

UW-Eau Claire students competing at the Blugold Sales Challenge are involved in a 20-minute sales role-play using the sponsoring company’s product or service. Sales professionals from the sponsor company will judge the role plays. 

All participants receive a Blugold Sales Challenge Certificate.  Students also receive points towards the University Sales Center Alliance Certified Sales Student Certificate.
